Ready, Set, Wait!

July 26th, 2025

Matthew 24:45-51.

When Rachel travels for work or ministry, her husband eagerly anticipates her return, not just out of excitement to see her, but because he knows her love language is acts of service, particularly returning to a tidy home. He waits until the last moment to clean, ensuring everything is ready when Rachel arrives.

In our passage, Jesus tells a parable about faithful and wise servants awaiting their master’s return. The master’s unexpected arrival tests their readiness. Similarly, we await Jesus’ return without knowing the exact time. Jesus urges us to be vigilant and faithful in our readiness, for His return will come like a thief in the night.

We too must seek to be ever ready for Christ’s return. Keeping watch, living faithfully, and serving others are not only beneficial for us but also for the world Christ is redeeming. Let us live each day with anticipation and readiness, knowing that our faithfulness honors Him and prepares us for His glorious return.
