Fractured and Fulfilled

Matthew 24:9-18.
“The abomination that causes desolation” (v. 15). These haunting words were spoken by Jesus on the Mount of Olives, stirring echoes of ancient prophecies from Daniel. With a clear sightline of the temple, soon to be razed by Roman armies, Jesus’ disciples pondered the meaning of these dire predictions. Many believed it heralded the end, a moment of reckoning and deliverance.
In today’s fractured world, where political strife divides communities, conflicts ravage nations, and natural disasters strike with increasing frequency, we may likewise wonder, “Is this the day? The hour of the Lord’s return?” Yet, Jesus gently reminds us: “But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father” (Mark 13:32).
Amid uncertainty, let us anchor ourselves in the certainty of God’s sovereignty and wisdom. Though we see turmoil, God sees His plan unfolding perfectly. As we discern the signs of the times, may we find peace in trusting His unfailing love and purpose. Our role is to remain faithful, prayerful, and steadfast in hope, knowing that each moment draws us closer to the fulfillment of His promises.
