Matthew 24:9-18.
In the past months, Rachel has witnessed waves of injustice as her husband, dedicated to serving and supporting a school district for 24 years, faced dishonor. Teachers, like pawns on a chessboard, were reassigned to roles they were unprepared for. Through anger, frustration, and hurt, they turned to Jesus, seeking His strength to navigate these turbulent waters.
Her instinct is to fight, yet Jesus calls us to surrender our swords and walk in the Spirit. In Matthew, from the Mount of Olives, Jesus speaks on tribulation and trials. His response to tribulation, death, threats, hate, and betrayal? Stand firm. Endure until the end. Enduring through trials builds the strength, humility, and reliance necessary to enter God’s kingdom. This way is only possible through the Holy Spirit’s power and leaning into Jesus for strength.
As we endure injustice and uncertainty, let us cling to Jesus’ words, finding hope and resilience in His promise that standing firm through trials prepares us for His eternal kingdom.
