It Is Still Today

May 17th, 2025

1 Thessalonians 4:7-12

From the moment you silence your alarm clock, the whole world begins to make its demands. Your schedule of appointments and responsibilities looms in your foggy mind. You begin to execute your plans for the day. All the preparation you put into this day reveals a maturity that would make mentors from your youth so proud.

You throw back the covers, crawl out of bed, and begin to flex your flexibility. It doesn’t take long to realize that the world around you cares less about your plans than its own demands. For the next several waking hours, you fight the discouragements of life and sin’s deceitfulness.

Wouldn’t it be great if someone you trust would remind you daily of your infinite worth, your potential, and their joy just to know you? What if they would look past their own unfulfilled expectations and celebrate you? Think about how you’d feel if someone smiled ear to ear when you walked in the room just because it’s you?

We still have the opportunity to be that someone for someone else. Be someone’s source of encouragement while it is still called “Today.”
