The True Gospel
April 21st, 2025
Galatians 2:1-10
There are four elements of the true gospel. First, the gospel is clear. It brings spiritual freedom in Christ. When the gospel is clear, there is no confusion.
Second, the gospel is trustworthy. The gospel must be genuinely true. The early church acknowledged their concern about counterfeits. Even now, there will be clever counterfeits, and the church must be anchored in the truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Third, the gospel must be congruent in all places. A congruent gospel makes it recognizable in every place it is proclaimed.
Fourth, the gospel must maintain a faithful manifestation of the life and ministry of Jesus Christ. Everywhere Jesus went, He touched the lives of people with care and compassion. To be faithful and true, the gospel had to be a compassionate gospel. Every effort must be made that the gospel of God reflects the face and ministry of Jesus. It must be a message of good news to all people everywhere. There must be no exclusions.
