Trust In the Lord

John 21:1-7
That early morning when Jesus’ disciples awoke to the news that Jesus had risen from the dead, it must have been earth-shattering. Someone they had lived and ministered with for three long years was gone—and then He wasn’t! That same evening, while they were meeting together, no doubt pondering what they had been told by the women who had gone to the tomb that morning, Jesus appeared among them.
Not long after that, the disciples decided to go out and fish. Perhaps they felt the need to keep busy as they turned over what had happened. As fishermen, it is only natural they would turn to what they knew best. So, they took their boats out onto the Sea of Galilee and lowered their nets.
After an unsuccessful night of fishing, they looked out to shore, and saw someone standing there. Whoever it was told them to try the other side of the boat. So they did, and hauled in the catch of a lifetime! Only then did they realize who it was who was standing on shore.
Doesn’t this happen to us sometimes? We are sometimes so caught up in our own cares that we can’t see something right in front of us. Trust in the Lord; He is there, ready to help us through whatever we are facing.
