Affirm Your Faith in Christ

Mark 8:22-30
Growing up, one television network would always play old westerns on Saturday afternoons. One of my favorites was The Lone Ranger. The show centered on a hero who disguised himself, concealing his identity with a black mask, and helped people against ruthless outlaws. At the end of many episodes, as he rode off, people would ask, “Who was that masked man?”
The disciples had just seen Jesus heal a blind man in Bethsaida. As they traveled to Caesarea Philippi, Jesus asked, “Who do people say I am?” The disciples shared some of the common views held by others. Then, Jesus wanted to know their thoughts. Peter responded, “You are the Messiah.”
Think about the way Jesus has transformed your life. Have people ever looked at your life and wondered how such transformation was possible? Jesus does not want us to conceal His identity—we are called to share with others how Jesus has changed our life.
Who do you say Jesus is? Each day may we answer that question by the way we acknowledge Him as Messiah in our own hearts and lives, being a witness to those around us.
