The Truth About God
March 27th, 2025
John 14:22-31
It is fascinating that, three years after being with Jesus, the disciples still struggled to understand Jesus’ purpose. One would imagine that after seeing amazing miracles, actions that defied physics, and the love children had for Jesus, they would see the face of God. However, despite all the teachings, they still did not recognize their Rabbi’s revelation.
We may look at the disciples 2,000 years later and question their faith. At the same time, how often have we seen miracles, answers to prayer that defy physics, the heartfelt devotion of children, and yet our hearts are still hardened? Jesus knew that unless we love and obey Him, we will not grasp the truth of God.
Jesus prepared the disciples to rely on the Spirit even after He was gone. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, we will have the strength to obey and the inspiration to love as Jesus loved. The truth of God is found in our relationship with His Son and Spirit, as we love Him, love others, and obey His commands.
