Perimeters and Boundaries

John 10:1-10
Traveling past the city of Jericho, our tour bus stopped at the tents of some Bedouin shepherds. The words of Jesus echoed in my mind as I watched the shepherds and their sheep. There are four powerful truths that Jesus wants us to know. He wants us to internalize them and write them on pages of our memory.
First, many people will make the claim of leadership. Remember, your leadership always comes from Jesus. He loves you and you are His first interest.
Second, it is a wild and crazy world out there. Jesus sets the perimeters and boundaries of your best life. You can test the waters, but you will find that the perimeter and boundaries the Shepherd sets are best for your life.
Third, amid the clamor and confusion of life, you will always recognize the Shepherd’s voice. You heard it when He called you and you will never forget it when He leads you.
Fourth, the life you long for is the gift of the Shepherd. It’s not the life of scarcity; it’s the life of abundance and blessing.
The Shepherd searched long and hard for you. Stay in the fold.
