Shine Brightly For Christ

Philippians 2:9-18
Did anyone have to teach you how to argue or complain? As children, we learn from listening and watching the words and deeds of those around us. As teenagers, we refine our skills. As adults we often learn how to make complaining an art form as evidenced by millions of social media posts and videos. While there is a positive side to learning the art of debate, there are comparatively few adults who argue for a living.
What difference does it make if we argue and complain? Christ’s death and resurrection served to heal us and make us whole—to free us from the power of sin and death. As believers whose lives have been transformed by the power of Jesus’ love, our lives should then reflect the love of the One who dwells within our hearts.
In a world full of sin, death, and despair, our lives become light shining in and pushing the darkness away. When we surrender our lives to the living Christ, we live in obedience to the Holy Spirit, and we willingly make changes in our lives that reflect a heart that is sold out to Christ.
