God’s Faithfulness

February 16th, 2025

Psalm 18:20-30

Psalm 18 was penned by David, according to the introduction to this psalm, “when the LORD delivered him from the hand of all his enemies and from the hand of Saul.”

By personal experience, David understood the nature of God and how God revealed himself to His people. He rewards us according to our inner character: faithfulness to the faithful, blamelessness to the blameless, purity to the pure, but shrewdness to the crooked. God is always fair and always faithful.

Psalm 18 reminds me of the words of Christ: “Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you” (Luke 6:38). If we give in cups, He blesses in cups. If we go to buckets, He blesses in buckets. If we go to dump trucks or boxcars, so does He! We cannot out give the Lord!

May we keep these thoughts in mind as we remain faithful to Him, for in the same way, He will be faithful to and through us.
