Don’t Delay!

2 Corinthians 6:1-13
How many times have I shopped for airline tickets, found a great price, but failed to act quickly? When I revisited, merely hours later, the prices had increased! Or I discovered something on sale in a department store but when I returned to make the purchase, the sale was over? I’m not the only one who has experienced this—you’ve been there, as well!
It’s frustrating to miss good airline tickets or even an item at the mall, but our salvation is altogether a different thing! Paul had taken the good news of the gospel to Corinth but he was not convinced that every Corinthian was indeed truly saved (13:5). Many of them were followers of “Judaizers” rather than of Christ.
For that reason, the apostle quoted from Isaiah 49:8, his invitation for their deliverance. He stressed that today is “the day of salvation” (2 Corinthians 6:2). There is no time to delay.
None of us has any way of knowing that we’ll have an opportunity tomorrow. We have only one life and it is short (James 4:14)! Isaiah encourages us, “Seek the LORD while He may be found” (55:6). Do you need to act quickly?
