Grow In Jesus
January 15th, 2025
Isaiah 60:15-22
We all rejoice when someone is converted but realize that’s only the beginning. We must be patient with them and allow them to mature in the faith. I remember one man who was saved on a Sunday night. He immediately stood and testified about his new life in Christ, using a swear word to describe his amazing experience! God had changed his life but his vocabulary still needed help!
Paul talks about shedding the old self and putting on the new (Ephesians 4:22-24). Peter says we should “grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ” (2 Peter 3:18). As we study God’s Word, listen to His Voice, and obey His Spirit, we should become obedient in our faith, forever changing, growing, and becoming more like Him.
In Isaiah 60, God compares His redeemed people to a shoot that had been planted, the work of His very own hands. Completely obedient to the Spirit, may we all be stronger Christians every day, striving to become all He wants us to be.
