God Still Loves

Isaiah 43:8-13
When God saved the people of Israel from the land of Egypt in the book of Exodus, God was doing two things: God was redeeming a people and God was revealing himself as the one true God. In the midst of the love letter of Isaiah 43 to the people, God was still doing those two things.
God was showing up in such a way as to remind the people and everyone else around them that the Lord is God. “Before me no god was formed, nor will there be one after me. I, even I, am the LORD, and apart from me there is no savior . . . Yes, and from ancient days I am he” (vv. 10-11, 13). The one who redeems them, loves them, and calls them by name is the one true God of the universe. God is not just one of the many foreign gods of the polytheistic culture around them. No, they were being wooed, pursued, and fiercely loved by the Creator of the entire world.
Remember that in Christ, God is still revealing himself, and God is still redeeming God’s people.
