Prepare Him Room

Isaiah 40:1-8        

Christmas takes a lot of preparation. For the glory of the Lord to be revealed through baby Jesus, God was busy orchestrating plenty of preparations. God delegated assignments to the angels to speak with Zechariah, Joseph, Mary, and the shepherds. In her old age, Elizabeth would give birth to John, who would be the voice preparing people for Emmanuel, “God with us.” God orchestrated the stars in the sky to provide the bright Messiah’s star hanging low over Bethlehem for the magi to follow and find Jesus. God even orchestrated the timeline of a Roman census taken in hometowns, fulfilling age-old prophecies.

God knows all about preparations and perfect timing. Yet, someone forgot hotel reservations—or did they? The luxury inn was all booked up. The cave was available, along with the feeding trough in which to lay the baby, the very Bread of Life. This Christmas, prepare the best room available for Jesus—your heart.
