Trusting God

Isaiah 26:1-6       

We live in a world full of distractions. Some of these things can be wonderful but some we allow to be distractions from what is most important. These things can become the center of our lives and shift what we build everything on.

The Smith family seemed to have everything going for them. Dad had started his dream job. Mom has just gotten a promotion at work. The children were excelling in school. They had even started building their dream home.

Before the family could move into their newly-completed home, it collapsed, burying everything they owned in a pile of rubble. Upon further examination, it was discovered that several support piers had not been placed in rock, but in the sandy soil. Under the weight, the piers shifted and the house fell flat.

If we are not careful, our lives will end up just like this family’s home. The only Rock that we can put our trust in is the Lord. God is the our hope, peace, and our salvation. We can trust God with everything. When our lives are built on God, everything flows from Him.
