Hide-And-Seek

Psalm 139:1-10
Remember that classic childhood game, “Hide-and-Seek”? While the first child counts, the remaining children scurry off to find that perfect hiding place. Finally, the child doing the counting exclaims, “Ready or not, here I come!”
Hide-and-Seek isn’t a game that we can successfully play with the Holy Spirit. There isn’t a situation we find ourselves in that the Spirit isn’t with us, waiting for us to seek the Father’s guidance. Comfort, peace, hope, and inspiration are always a prayer away.
If you’ve been a Christ-follower for a long time, it may be easy to take this fact for granted—to not appreciate it for what it is truly worth. Perhaps right now is a good time to experience this truth in a fresh new way.
Consider taking time to thank God for His constant presence in your life. Ask God to help you to continue to seek the Spirit’s guidance in all things. Remind others of this important truth. Rest in the assurance that even if you tried to hide from the Holy Spirit’s watchful eye, you’d never succeed.
