Life-Long Learning

Proverbs 1:1-7
I am convinced that committing to a life of following God is to commit to life-long learning. It seems this is what the author of Proverbs 1 was hoping to tell readers as they approached the book: There is much to learn! A life with God and an understanding of the Holy Scriptures is really only possible when one has a desire to learn, self-reflect, confess, and grow in love and in wisdom. The author of Proverbs encourages the “wise” to listen and add to their learning.
For those who are older—are we still listening and learning? Is our love for others still growing and expanding as we learn more and more about the nature and character of God?
For those who are younger—have we opened ourselves up to the wisdom of those who have gone before us? The author encourages the young and those who are discerning to receive guidance.
Wherever we find ourselves in our journey of faith, we have much to learn. Don’t discount one another. Listen, learn, and walk together toward Jesus.
