His Kingdom Is Everlasting

Daniel 7:23-28
In The Chronicles of Narnia, it was the mighty lion Aslan who knew with certainty that he needed to go to the stone table in order that his sacrifice would fulfill the freedom for the transgressions of Edmund Pevansie. The scene depicts all the evil of Narnia, including the White Witch, gathered around the stone table making fun and dancing around as if this would be the beginning of their rule of Narnia.
This last portion of Daniel 7 feels like the tale of Narnia played out. There are powerful forces of evil that we all feel strongly in these days. We have the angst of living during the “in between” of Christ’s first advent and His second advent.
This may convey the angst we feel in these present days while we await our Lord’s return, but it does help us reaffirm our faith that His kingdom shall ever reign! We are in Christ! Look beyond the events of “the stone table” to our eternal home in glory where He shall rule forever and ever.
