A Life of Praise
September 26th, 2024
Daniel 6:23-28
Throughout Scripture, we are treated to story after story of God’s miraculous hand guiding specially-appointed men and women into victory. After the euphoria of the moment had passed, some of the Bible’s greatest leaders paused to sing a song of praise to God for leading the people to triumph.
A powerful reminder of God’s incredible faithfulness and worthiness of praise in the book of Daniel is the hymn of praise that was lifted after Daniel was delivered from the lion’s den. We are surprised, however, when we find it was not Daniel who raised this hymn of praise for his deliverance, but King Darius—he issued a decree that included the worship of God.
One of the great opportunities in our own moments of deliverance is the resulting praise that it can foster in those around us. God’s power on display in and through us is not just for our own benefit, but also to make us a living testimony to all about who God is.
