Restored

Acts 3:17-26

Restoration is a precious and beautiful thing. It’s amazing what a fresh coat of paint, a little reinforcing, new hardware, or a simple application of soap will do for something that is broken, structurally diminished, or just plain filthy!

The ability to restore is a precious treasure. The fact that restoration is possible means that hope isn’t lost. It might take time, effort, and sacrifice, but it’s not an impossible task.

God, in His infinite mercy thought humanity was worth saving. Despite the brokenness that sin brought into the world, God looked past the darkness and saw restoration. Time and time again, God showed His love for humanity through an abundance of second chances.

Redemption is a common thread in the entirety of the Bible. Intricate rituals requiring specific sacrifices and procedures for any given transgression filled Old Testament life. Restoration was possible, as long as you could pay the price. Then, there was the ultimate sacrifice—the death of God’s only Son, Jesus, on the cross and His resurrection. There, the work was finished. The old is made new. Humanity is restored.
