Worship As Hope

Revelation 19:1-8

I wonder what might be weighing on you in this moment. Perhaps there is a deep struggle in your heart. Maybe you feel in battle with someone you love. You may feel trapped by something that has tempted you or hurt by someone who should have cared for you. Take a moment to breathe in the Holy Spirit. Invite the Almighty to encounter the heaviness with you.

The Revelation of John gives hope precisely in the midst of struggles. It is written to people who were enduring the most unimaginable suffering. John saw a crowd worshiping the Lord, who came to their rescue and saved them. They celebrated God’s victory over the powers that had lured them away from faithfulness. They praised God for overturning oppression with justice.

While we live in the tension and ache of present circumstances, we put our hope in the God who has already brought about our salvation in Jesus Christ. We anticipate the day when we shall see our full salvation and rejoice in the victory into which we will live fully.
