The Proof Is In The Pudding
July 25th, 2024
Acts 17:24-31
Have you heard the saying, “The proof of the pudding is in eating it”? We can assess the value or quality of something when we judge it based on direct experience with it or its results. When you eat the pudding, you can determine the quality (or lack thereof) of said pudding.
What sort of situations do you find yourself in where proof is important? Perhaps you’ve been asked for “proof of license and registration” by a police officer. You may find yourself being asked for proof of residence when applying for a new library card or utility service. We keep safe documents of proof: birth certificates, government identification cards, and certificates of ceremonies like marriage. Proof identifies who we are, what we care about, and what belongs to us.
Christ is God’s proof that God loves the world and wants to redeem the world. That ultimate sacrifice and mighty power is the proof that God applies to God’s identity.
How has God’s proof changed your life?
