In God’s Presence

Luke 12:35-40
I’m currently watching some workers assemble large grass umbrellas on a white sand beach. It all starts with a large, six-sided wooden frame supported by a sturdy wooden pole and a large, flat base. Then a couple of the workers climb a ladder and carefully place the sections of brown grass atop the frame, slowly incorporating the part into the whole.
Once the canopy is complete, a round net cover is draped over the top and, I assume, secured in some way. It appeared as if those entrusted to erect the umbrellas were doing their jobs in such a way that their supervisors would be pleased. I’d sit under one of these umbrellas, but my view is courtesy a live web camera via my smart television.
I figure we as Christ-followers are like those workers on that white sandy beach. Each day, we wake up in the location God has planted us, work the jobs we’re privileged to have, and attend to the families that we’ve been blessed with. One sweet day, God’s Word promises us that He will come again.
