Beautiful Puzzles

July 18th, 2024

Psalm 63:1-11

I’ve never been into jigsaw puzzles, but I’ve known people who were. They put together beautiful puzzles and sometimes they even go so far as to display them in their homes. After they’ve slid the last piece into place, they carefully spread the glue over each and every inch of their masterpiece. After the adhesive dries, the puzzle is placed into a frame that complements the work before it is finally hung on a wall for all to admire.

We’re each our own jigsaw puzzle. Some of our pieces are frayed, bent, damaged, or missing. Some of our patterns might be so intricate that it’s downright impossible to tell where they might fit. Some might even feel the best they can do is carry their puzzle around in its tattered box and hope for the best.

I am so thankful that we aren’t responsible for assembling our puzzles. It’s okay to bring our pile of damaged pieces to the cross and just lay it down. I’m thankful for the Father’s ability to repair as needed. God still wants to frame us and show us off for His glory.

The scripture is incorrect. It should be Isaiah 6:1-7.

Thanks, Ed. I wondered about that scripture since it was the same as yesterday. Isaiah 6 makes more sense.
