Run To Him with Praise!

1 Peter 2:6-10

Jesus Christ is the cornerstone that bonds believers to God and eternal life in Him. Peter emphasizes the importance of knowing God by warning that even the most spiritual sacrifice and the most elaborate praise is unacceptable unless they are given through Jesus Christ.

While unbelievers see Jesus Christ as a stumbling block, and try to run from Him to hide in darkness, true believers recognize how precious Jesus Christ is, and run to Him and praise Him in the light! When we consider the darkness He has saved us from, we could never praise Him enough.

True praise and worship originates in the greatness, sovereignty, and majesty of God. He is already praiseworthy and worthy to be worshiped, but it is through our acknowledgement of His greatness that praise and worship is evoked. Therefore, we cannot even take credit for our praise and worship . . . it is simply our acknowledgement of Him. This would explain how rocks can cry out when the praise that is due Him remains silent.
