The Source

1 Corinthians 8:1-6
Our family loves to play trivia games. We listen to the questions, shouting out the answers, often before the questions are finished. Yes, we keep score. Whoever wins is allowed to proclaim themselves the “Source of All Wisdom and Knowledge.” We know the title is neither permanent nor accurate. It is silliness.
The accurate and permanent title of “Source of All Wisdom and Knowledge” belongs to God alone. Those who truly follow Christ know this, but the knowing is just the beginning. God’s knowing, His grace, is timeless and perfect. It is this knowing which calls us to Him. It is this knowing which arises from relationship rather than exclusively academic knowledge. In this relationship we gain understanding that God knows us. Our hearts are cleared from the corrosion of arrogance. Arrogance is replaced with love for God and love for others. We no longer search for the source of all wisdom and knowledge. We have found Him. We live in and extend that love to all people.
