Titus 1:1-9
Paul was hosting a virtual leadership-training event in Titus 1. It wasn’t possible to gather in person and so he sent a letter. He reviewed leadership responsibilities–beginning with character rather than a job description.
We are all leaders somewhere. So don’t skip over Titus and try to apply it to someone else. Join the training. Paul reminds us to “hold firmly” to “sound doctrine” (v. 9). That doesn’t mean you have to sign up for seminary. It means you must apply God’s truths and standards to your life. It means that what you believe grows you closer to the character of Christ.
We all know that lectures, debates, or arguments turn few to the life of Christ. However, a godly character, a healthy Christian, a faith pilgrim–now there’s a magnet for evangelism!
We need to be magnets for the truth of Christ. Our lives must show Christ in the words we speak and how we speak them, in the perspectives we follow, and in every action we take. Be the leader who proves it.
