The Right Call

Exodus 14:1-9
I am not much of a football player; in fact I rarely even watch games. I do know that it is a game of strategy. One of my favorite parts of football is to see how the coach interacts with the team when calling a play. The coach has a different perspective of the game than the players on the field. This allows the coach to make critical calls. When everything comes together correctly, the coach is praised for making the right call.
The Israelites in Exodus 14 couldn’t see the big picture of what the Lord was doing, so God called on Moses to make a call that would show God’s glory. The hardening of Pharaoh’s heart in his pursuit of the Israelites allowed God’s glory to be shown. The Israelites responded in obedience to the Lord. Much like a football play, there has to be obedience in order for glory to be shown. God used Moses so the Israelites could see God has a purpose for the people of Israel.
What calls are being made in your life right now that you wouldn’t normally make?

Amen. For me, personally, it’s to be more attuned to the voice of the Holy Spirit, become more aware of His presence, and walk in His ways fully committed and obedient to his specific calling and will for my life. Praise God! Proverbs 16:9
