Praise God For Victory!
April 6th, 2022
Psalm 118:15-21
In an early pastorate, I preached on “the carnal nature,” gave an altar call, and several believers were sanctified wholly. One young man stood and gloriously testified, “God delivered me tonight from that ‘carmel nation!’”
The Lord knew his heart and understood his exclamation of victory. It’s always a good habit to testify of what God has done in our lives. Psalm 118:15-21 is an echo of the song of victory that Moses and the Israelites sang after escaping the oncoming Egyptians and crossing the sea: “Your right hand, LORD, was majestic in power. Your right hand, LORD, shattered the enemy” (Exodus 15:6).
Throughout scripture, the right hand is a picture of strength and capability. Whenever the Bible specifically mentions God’s right hand, the key focus is on His strength and power. “I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.” (Isaiah 41:10) ”You stretch out your hand against the anger of my foes, with your right hand you save me.” (Psalm 138:7-8)
Is there something for which you need to see the power of God’s right hand? Be sure to testify when you do.
