You Can’t Hide

Matthew 23:25-39
Every time we try to cover some kind of dirt, brush it under the carpet, repaint, spray it with fragrance to cover the smell, soon or later the dirtiness will come up and expose that cover, revealing reality. No matter how long you try to hide it, you know that it’s there, needing some cleaning and attention. For the Pharisees this cover of righteousness was no longer working, it was showing the cracks, the smell, the hypocrisy.
It is easy to ignore certain attitudes and actions, they look like stains which require a special device to see the nastiness. Jesus was like this special device, revealing the dirt. If you are like me, it’s not easy to come to Jesus and ask Him to reveal the dirt, but it’s a must. We need His cleansing power!
As Christians we need to ask Jesus to reveal what is inside, the more we ignore or hide what needs attention, the more we will get used to it. Ask Him to reveal all the spots that need to be clean. Let Him clean you with His precious blood.
