God’s Free Love
October 22nd, 2021
John 3:10-18
John 3:16 is full of action: God loved and out of love, God gave. We step into the flow of the wonderful saving grace of God each time we merge our lives, our prayers, our compassion with those who do not yet know about God’s gift for them. However, I am always drawn to the verse that follows. John wants us to know that God’s purpose for sending Jesus to the world was our salvation, not our condemnation. Sometimes, salvation and condemnation get a little blurred, even in the church.
God freely gave out of love for us. That love is an invitation to act on that love—to carry this amazing news to the world. During this pandemic, is there anyone on the planet that doesn’t need to hear the reminder from Monday’s devotional: “Is there anything too hard for the Lord?” (Genesis 18:14a). Is there anyone on our planet right now that doesn’t need to hear that Christ came to save and not to condemn?
God loves and from the love flows beautiful grace to all who will receive. Go and love as God has called you to do.
