We Are Never Alone

2 Corinthians 1:12-22
The apostle Paul, in one of his letters, talks about how the gift of faith (belief that Jesus Christ is the Messiah, that Christ died and rose again, removing our trespasses and reconciling us to God) is imparted by the Holy Spirit, who takes up residence in us. In Jesus Christ through the Holy Spirit, we have direct access to God. We are in relationship and communion with God by the Holy Spirit through Jesus the Son. God has put His Spirit in our hearts; we are never alone.
I heard someone speak about the promise Jesus gives in the gospel—that where two or three are gathered in His name, He is there in their midst. They stated that since the Holy Spirit is with us there are already two gathered, even when we’re alone, because we’re never alone. We have this promise of God, who is Emmanuel, to be with us. When life is going well, may we be grateful for God’s presence. When we walk through the dark valley, may we lean on the Holy Spirit in faith to guide us through.
