Deuteronomy 30:11-20
“Why isn’t God blessing me?” At times of frustration, this is a question we often ask ourselves. We hit rough times and wonder if God has forgotten us. We find ourselves doing an inner inventory of what we are doing, or not doing, in our lives. Are we doing good things or bad? As we compile a list, it can be difficult to be totally honest with ourselves. We may hedge a little on our list.
As the Israelites were preparing to enter the Promised Land, God spoke very plainly to the Israelites. God told them their blessings in life would be directly related to their obedience to Him and His Word. Any curses that would fall on them would be directly connected to their disobedience. Any blessings would be directly related to their obedience. God didn’t tell the Israelites that a list of good acts warranted blessings. God told them to obey Him, and blessings would follow.
Today, let your personal inventory not be based on what you are doing, but how you are obeying God and His Word.
