When Life Begins

Acts 2:31-41
Life begins when I repent of my sins. This repentance includes a summons to a personal, absolute, and unconditional surrender to God as Lord of my life. This is sewn together with godly sorrow, regret, confession, belief, and a complete change of spiritual, moral, and human direction toward God.
Real life can begin at any age. I was a child of eight and attending a small church in Kansas City, Kansas when one Sunday morning my pastor preached a sermon calling us to repent of our sins. Now at eight I had not done anything spectacularly wrong, but I felt the Holy Spirit convict me: I needed to ask Jesus to come into my life. I left the pew and moved forward to an altar to pray. The wonderful people of that church surrounded me in prayer. They could only pray for me, I had to be the one that asked God to forgive me and come into my heart. When I did, God entered and redeemed me from Satan and loosed the shackles of sin!
