In The Midst of Temptation

1 Corinthians 10:1-13
This life comes with temptations in all shapes and forms. Some temptations are more difficult to face than others. Some play on our desires. Others pull on our heartstrings, demand our devotion, or seek our allegiance.
We are hardly the first to experience temptation. Even God’s people, having been delivered by God’s mighty hand from Egypt, struggled with temptation in the wilderness. Their example serves as a warning for us: We will face temptations in this life. There will be times when we are tempted to turn away from God’s will and way.
We take heart because we do not face these temptations alone. Instead, amid temptation, we rest in the faithfulness of our God. God is One who has known every temptation in Christ Jesus, and yet remained steadfast in faithfulness and obedience. By the power of the Spirit living within us, we are given the necessary grace to say, “no,” when temptations come our way.
Though we are not promised it will be easy, we are promised that God is faithful.
