The Path of Life

Psalm 16:1-11
I’ve become convinced thus far in my life as a Christian, husband, father, and pastor that two paths exist in life: a path that leads to life, and a path that leads to death. I’ve come across many people in my life—too many, really—who technically are breathing and have a pulse, but they’re not really alive. They have no purpose, not much hope, and not much spiritual life. They might be avoiding death, but that doesn’t mean they’re truly alive.
I’m convinced the “path of life” the Psalmist speaks of in Psalm 16 is significantly more than just what happens to us when we die. This life is a path, not merely a destination. The life we find in the heart of God is life more abundantly during our lifetimes! As we are on the way to the eternal life that awaits us, we are called to live in that life right now. We are called to live in light of the resurrection that is coming.
