What Does Love Look Like?
August 11th, 2019
1 Thessalonians 4:1-12
Parenting can be a joyful, and yet overwhelming role. Parenting never takes a break—there are no vacation days from your job as a parent. Sometimes it can be a harrowing, exhausting, confusing journey. In the midst of the growing pains, are nuggets of joy and hope. When our children accomplish something—no matter how big or small—our hearts are filled with rejoicing.
Paul, in writing to the church in Thessalonica, takes time to praise the believers, “As for other matters, brothers and sisters, we instructed you how to live in order to please God, as in fact you are living. Now we ask you and urge you in the Lord Jesus to do this more and more. (4:1). So many of Paul’s letters to Christian included guidance, rebuke, and instruction as he helped them grow in faith. These Christians are loving God and loving others. Paul spurs them on to continue to love. Praise the Lord!
Celebrating the joys in our journey can encourage fellow believers and provide a time to express our gratitude to God for His grace.
