The Fight Is Not With Each Other

Proverbs 17:18-28
Wherever there are people, there are bound to be disagreements. We all come from different families, locations, finances, and experiences. We all have things that have shaped the way we see things. These differences can help us accomplish amazing things, but they can also lead to disagreements and arguments.
Disagreeing with someone isn’t necessarily wrong. After all, we can and should have civil discourse. These civil discussions are actually very healthy; they help us grow. However, when we end up turning things into quarrels a line has been crossed.
We all know someone who always seems to be looking for a disagreement. When we are constantly fighting with others, we cause dissension and division instead of sharing the joy of the Lord. When we can’t see past our own selves, thoughts, and ideas to love one another just as Christ has loved us, we are sinning against God.
Christians, we must put aside ourselves and turn our hearts, thoughts, words, and actions to God’s will in order to accomplish His plan for our lives.
