Anticipation
April 28th, 2019
Galatians 6:11-18
This past year my family moved into a new house. It was winter when we moved and a blanket of snow covered the backyard, flower beds, the deck, and the sidewalk. As the snow melted and winter turned to spring, I watched with anticipation as the new flowers began sprouting and growing. The first variety to appear, of course, was a smattering of crocuses. As they pushed their way up through the cold, hardened soil, their appearance brought a reminder of new life.
God gives us the gift of new life in Him. Something all-together unique and different than we were before. A new creation, without the old hang-ups, hurts, and hindrances. God can take all of those away, making us into a beautiful masterpiece overflowing with the hope of what He wants to do in and through us. What area of your life needs a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit? Let’s allow God to move into the messy parts of our life and pour out His grace in order to bring about a new life in us, in a new way.
