Run The Race
March 22nd, 2019
1 Corinthians 9:19-27
The Christian’s race is not a sprint—it is a marathon.
Patrick Downes lost his left leg in the 2013 Boston Marathon bombings while he was spectating near the finish line with his wife. Three years later, he crossed that same finish line wearing a prosthesis and became the first Boston bombing amputee to complete the marathon on foot.
The apostle Paul was beaten, stoned, imprisoned, and shipwrecked. He had more than his fair share of difficulties during his marathon. And yet, he tells all of us to run in such a way to receive the prize.
Even though Paul had many obstacles that he overcame in doing what he was called to do, he didn’t stop running, he didn’t stop preaching. He persevered, keeping his eye on the prize.
What is your calling? Each of us will encounter obstacles in fulfilling our call to spread the Good News. May we never stop running towards the finish. May we keep doing what God asks us to do and one day we will receive the victor’s crown.

Thank you for providing Reflecting God online. It is such a blessing.
Is there a way to include the hymn text and a prayer focus for each day?
I really miss the inspiration of the hymn text each day from the printed copy.
You are a blessing.
