Exodus 14:15-31
They say seeing is believing. Our natural inclination is to look for tangible proof. In Exodus 14 we find the well-known story of the Israelites crossing the Red Sea. This is a turning point of sorts, as the people of Israel take their first steps into a new way of following the one true God.
The Israelites were in panic watching the Egyptian army riding toward them at the Red Sea. The tables turned in these verses, and the Egyptians were now in a panic as waters crash in around their army. The people of Israel witnessed God defend them and defeat their enemies. The miracle of God’s protection was proven in chariots buried beneath the waves.
The miracle inspired the people to put their faith in God. They saw God move and responded in their hearts. God is still in the miracle business today: people restored, lives made whole, circumstances endured. How do we respond?
Today, watch for a miracle of God in your life. How can you respond to His active movement around you?
