We Are Already Equipped

Exodus 4:1-17
A trusted colleague said the following words to us as we were changing pastoral assignments: “Everything you have experienced and learned up to this point in your lives will help prepare you for this next assignment.” Oh, how those words proved to be true! Have these words proved true in your life?
In a moment, God called Moses to lead His people out of Egypt, but God had been preparing Moses for that role all his life. The circumstances of Moses’ birth and childhood, his adoption by Pharaoh’s daughter, his education in the palace, his experiences of banishment and solitude, his life as a herdsman—all refined him for God’s new assignment. Yes, Moses had doubts, but God reassured Him that He would convince the Egyptians that Moses was truly called of God.
Maybe you don’t feel equipped to handle the role in which you find yourself right now. Think about where God has brought you from, and what you have learned on your path. Then trust Him to guide and teach you in this new adventure.
