Compassion For Others
March 6th, 2018
Proverbs 31:10-21
Daisy and Clark were an ordinary couple in a small town of Idaho. They owned a small farm implement business together, but times were tough, and many others were suffering from lack of employment during the depression years. They were not rich by any means, but they shared what they could with others. In fact, many throughout the town, and even those who were just passing through on the train, came to know Daisy and Clark’s reputation for compassion. From a blind man who had no family being given a place to stay and food every day to making sure that individuals did not go hungry, Daisy and Clark had a spirit of humility and generosity.
What we do to help others may be simple, but if we do it for God, we can have a profound influence on the lives that we reach. As Christians, we are called to be people of simplicity and compassion, resourceful and giving. We are to live with integrity and purpose. We act because we are called to love others and show compassion in their time of need.
