A Faithful Guide

Psalm 5:1-12
Today, traveling has been simplified. GPS has made possible for even the least-experienced traveler to get from point A to point B. There’s no longer a need for the skill of map reading; technology has taken care of that for us. But, what happens when the signal is interrupted?
In Psalm 5, David needed direction for the here and now. So, he called on the One he knew to be a faithful Guide and acknowledged that he needed His leadership to arrive at his appointed destination. He needed the discernment and righteousness that can only come from this Guide. David desired to do well, to arrive at his destination with a right character and proper actions that would please his God. Perhaps the greatest evidence of this desire is the acknowledgement that he couldn’t do it on his own.
In a culture with little regard for the truth, how can one make it on the journey with so many things interrupting the signal? By realizing it can’t be done without fully relying on and following the direction of the faithful Guide.
