Hope in God’s Word
January 14th, 2018
Psalm 119:113-128
As an evangelist, Susie travels and speaks 43 weeks/weekends a year, and she meets a lot of folks in the church who don’t make Bible reading a priority. We’re kidding ourselves if we think we can grow spiritually and live in the center of His will without reading His Word.
May I challenge you to read the entire Bible this year? Here’s an easy plan: If you’ll simply read three chapters each day and five chapters every Sunday, you will have read the Bible in one year. Why is this important? Because His Word serves as a lamp for our path. We live in a dark world; therefore, we need a light. The Bible is our light.
It’s also our foundation in establishing a strong, intimate relationship with Christ. It serves as a map–our navigation system in keeping ourselves on the path of righteousness. Because the Bible is God’s truth, we can trust it. We receive knowledge and understanding from it. It teaches us how to solidify our relationship with God, and we learn how to develop intimacy with Him.
