Together Glorify God
November 12th, 2017
Psalm 34:1-10
Worship freely, brothers and sisters in Christ! Worship God privately and publically and bring great glory to Him! Each believer in community needs to be a part of always believing and living like David: “I will extol the LORD at all times; his praise will always be on my lips” (v. 1). Each psalm is a poem, a song of brokenness, gratitude, praise, or worship to our God, written by diverse authors.
Peter Schaeffer aptly wrote, “Without worship you shrink; it is as brutal as that.” The late Kenneth Grider in A Wesleyan-Holiness Theology says, “When we worship, we are recognizing ‘worthship’ in a Being far higher than ourselves.”* Glory to God forever!
God responds to intercessory prayer in worship. The Scriptures say, “I sought the LORD, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears. Those who look to him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame” (vv. 4-5).
Worshiping and glorifying God brings joy and strength to believers to care for each other.
