Free to Love

2 John 1:1-13
The ability to allow each other basic human rights is based on the understanding of the Creator’s relationship to mankind. God loves us. What is love? For the created, love is to “walk in obedience to his commands” (2 John 1:6).
Does it amaze you, as it does me, that our obedience to God to “walk in love” results in such a variety of expressions that are all faithful to the command of love? Hospitals, colleges, denominations, radio ministries, mission efforts ranging from preaching to agriculture, are all the result of God’s children walking in obedience. Our worship styles and evangelism methods vary even within families.
Instead of despairing over diversity, rejoice that God’s love allows for individuality in the way we feel led to express our love to Him. Each can be true to one’s own uniqueness. Whatever our nationality of origin, or how we express our faith, if we walk in obedience to God, love will be demonstrated.
