Ephesians 2:1-10
I was a seminarian living five miles from Archie, Missouri, pastoring a community church while taking classes at seminary. A short time after coming home from a vacation, I became ill and went to bed thinking I had the flu. Days passed and I became worse.
Finally, I consented to go to the hospital. My wife and a friend drove me to the emergency room, where the staff helped me into a private room to run tests. A doctor came in and told me, “Mr. Keefer, if you had waited 15 minutes more, you would have been dead.” It was not the flu, but an extreme case of food poisoning. I remained several days for treatment. Going to the emergency room saved my life!
The Bible says that we are dying in our transgressions and sin. Doctor Jesus is available to heal us through His mercy, grace, and love. We need to quit delaying a trip to the emergency room and rush there now!
