See, And Remember

Genesis 9:1-17
On the heels of disaster, God reaffirmed His covenant with all living creatures and established the rainbow as a reminder. Does God have a poor memory? No, God does not need the reminder, but humans need reassurance. We need to know that God remembers us.
Difficulty arose as Barbara began labor for the birthing of her daughter. Barbara was reassured when a beautiful rainbow appeared outside the hospital window. A healthy baby was born. Six weeks later, Barbara took her ill daughter back to the hospital. The doctor checked for spinal meningitis and other potentially serious illnesses. From the hospital, Barbara saw another rainbow, and again her daughter was fine.
Thirty-three years later, Barbara’s daughter was diagnosed with aggressive cancer. In the midst of great distress, Barbara cried to the Lord for another rainbow. On that very day, through a series of unusual events, Barbara ended up in an out-of-the ordinary place. Emerging from her car, she was stunned to see a rainbow.
See and remember the promises of God.

I thank God for the rainbow and what it represents. It has been a few rough weeks for me and this gives encouragement and reassurance to me.
